On today’s episode of RSP, the crew discusses what it means to take a break in a relationship. They tackle the questions: what are the pros and cons of taking a break, do these breaks lead to closeness or distance, and what are legitimate reasons for taking a break? A popular opinion shared among the team is that a break is automatically understood to be a breakup, and the men certainly agree that having time off in a relationship is not a good idea. The crew does agree that there is one situation where they might understand the need for a break. Could a request for a break suggest the person just really wants to sleep around, without the accountability of being in a relationship? At least one of the hosts thinks that even if the aforementioned isn’t the reason, asking for a break plants the seed for the other partner to think that it’s about sex with other people.
