Topic: Getting to The Root
During this episode of RSP, the gentlemen get to the root of their toxicity. In a previous episode, The 72nd Date: "Don't Tell A Black Woman Anything", each member shared his/her challenging or toxic trait. Today’s episode is a continuation of that conversation, where we explore the origin of the issues. The conversation begins with C.L. attempting to imply that all toxicity is not necessarily bad, and he uses one of Babyface’s songs to illustrate the point. Professor Tee challenges one of his points, which leads to role-playing. During the discussion, Nique brings up the controversial point that some women want to be “tamed” or “handled.” C.L. finally shares why he’s judgmental and why he feels like he has to push or pressure people beyond their level of comfortability. As for Yusuf, WHEW! We revisit a previous conversation where he discussed his defensiveness, but he surprises us with a much deeper toxic trait. We won’t spoil it for you, but just know that it has to do with his pattern of previous behaviors in relationships, situationships, and entanglements with women and how that history impacts his present.
